We aim to equip humanity with simple, powerful, voice workflows

We believe that voice is a powerful input tool, that is not only 10x faster than keyboards, screens or mouse, but voice has the potential to re-write some of the rules for how we all interface with computers.

Our better AI and workflows re-imagine putting words into action across simple, daily tasks.

Voice has been missing the proper user interface to unlock its true potential.

Until Ahoy came along, composing and sending an email required having hands and eyes on the message, in every scenario. Writing emails has been about getting every character correct, more than making the point.

Ahoy's first workflow - Compose an email message or memo - puts your focus back on messaging, and makes using your eyes and hands optional. This opens up many instances where messaging can be less formal, and make it much faster to draft a reply, or even to reply immediately.

Hopefully, the result is that Ahoy makes it easier for you to flow. Speak freely, express yourself and let Ahoy handle composing your message as a memo. Any mistakes, typos and misspellings are now on Ahoy. Not on you.

Talk at people, talk with people in conversations and use voice to accomplish tasks from your environment. Ahoy upgrades your daily environment, and helps keep you connected.

Proudly built by a small,
passionate team, and led by...

It's just a new way to use your voice.

Introducing Voice Workflows:

We made Ahoy to unbundle voice AI from the OS and to enable a new way for voice to be leveraged as a "tool."

Ahoy re-imagines what workflows should be for basic activities you do every day... composing, capturing, drafting, sharing. It's new and different, and requires re-thinking some assumptions.

What's exciting to us, is seeing how the world evolves as more and more people are getting their hands on Ahoy, getting value from flowing more easily, and using Ahoy with each other.

Come build with us?

What's in Ahoy has been developed by our small team, so far. While we are small, with your help, we can be mighty.

If you recognize that the way we work has changed, you know that voice AI can be leveraged in to be much more useful every day.

What's exciting to us seeing how the world evolves as more and more people get their hands on Ahoy, use Ahoy for themselves, and also with each other.

Our mission is to make voice more useful. We believe simple tools that bring together intents, commands and a simple UI on mobile leads to new outcomes, faster results and a more efficient world.

So our hope is that builders that agree reach out to us. We would love empower builders to create voice workflows. We'd love to hear from you! Literally, talk to us! Let us enable you with the tools (and APIs with webhooks) to make your ideas real! The best ideas often come from users, customers, and developers. They arrive from anywhere, at odd times. If you have even a single idea for what voice could unlock for you (or people you know)... say hello! Or <ahem> say Ahoy.

Of course, we're growing our team too. If you're inspired by consumer voice AI, consider dropping us a line or finding us online. We're excited to hear from potential future teammates that are aligned with this mission. We are a remote and distributed team with presence in San Francisco. But we hire from everywhere.

Ahoy, builders! Say hello to an open, voice input pipeline.

Ahoy's workflows are the open endpoint you've been looking for. Creators and developers of future voice workflows, we'd love to say 'Hello' to you!

Today we're just a small team of engineers and designers, standing in front of a bunch of users, asking about what they need from a real-time voice input and communication tool.

The short history of Ahoy according to NPR:

"Ahoy," it turns out, had been around longer than "hello" — at least 100 years longer. It too was a greeting, albeit a nautical one, derived from the Dutch "hoi," meaning "hello." Bell felt so strongly about "ahoy" he used it for the rest of his life.

The dictionary says it was Thomas Edison who put "hello" into common usage. He urged the people who used his phone to say "hello" when answering.

His rival, Alexander Graham Bell, thought the better word was "ahoy."

Given it's age-old roots, we picked up "Ahoy" as a familiar expression. We hope using Ahoy gives it new meaning to you... not only for saying 'hello,' but also for putting words into action.
